A high standard of dress and grooming is essential to reflect the personal standards required of a student at Saint Francis Xavier. Poor dress or grooming reflects adversely on all parties; student, parents and school; and so high standards are strongly reinforced. Parents are asked to assist the school in this area.
Uniform Review 18th September 2019
As you may be aware the decision was made to review the school uniform this year. I was extremely reluctant to review the school uniform however, after listening to the students, especially the girls, it was evident that our uniform had limitations.
Catholic schools are called to develop a sense of community where all people are treated equally regardless of financial circumstances. A consistent uniform worn by all students and kept to a minimal cost, helps students feel part of the community and enables them to show pride and respect towards their school. A high standard of dress and grooming is essential to reflect the personal standards required of students at St Francis Xavier Primary School.
The school has a “No Hat - No Play” policy for the full school year. The school hat is part of the uniform and is worn for all outdoor activities. While Pre-Primary and Kindergarten children do not wear school uniform, the “No Hat - No Play” rule applies.
